AGAINSTHATE

“Aviva” comes from the Hebrew (hyv) and means: to preserve, to make more alive, to keep aflame burning, to enliven, to renew and to purify .

— Associação AVIVA18

Hate Speech is not an Opinion.

We map, we name, we document, we act, we protect and we interrupt.

AVIVA•18 is an independent association dedicated to the systematic monitoring of incidents, to public education and to direct action against hate speech, antisemitism, racism in general and other discriminatory practices.

We work with companies, schools, institutions and public and private organizations — before, during and after the crisis.

In prevention, we train, guide and build capacity.

In crisis management, we identify patterns, support victims, structure institutional responses and pursue accountability when the case demands it. Because fighting hate requires method, presence and institutional courage.

Hate speech destroys. It hurts. It is the forerunner of concrete violence.

It cannot be normalized.

When incidents are tracked systematically, they reveal structures — and structures have people responsible for them.

Hostile behavior leaves recognizable traces. Our continuous-monitoring methodology detects these patterns in digital and in-person environments — and works with structured records, not a report of suspicions.

The invisible becomes visible.

AVIVA18 operates as a unique institutional practice in Brazil: systematic monitoring, victim support, public education and accountability — integrated into a single method.

• Corporate Protocol

Companies without protection protocols are exposed companies.

We deliver diagnosis, leadership training and internal protocols, institutional shielding before the incident becomes a crisis, and criminal and civil liability.

We guide companies before, during and after hate incidents.

Courses and training for students — from primary school to university. Tailored to each age group.

Training and capacity-building for Educators, adapted to the principles of each Educational Institution.

Private groups, independent of any teaching institution.

Educational teams are prepared to recognize and interrupt discriminatory speech before it becomes a crisis. They become able to recognize discriminatory patterns and activate safety protocols.

Students gain access to knowledge about bullying, digital safety, discriminatory speech and much more. All tailored to each age group.

If we are called in after an incident, we handle crisis management.

• Projeto Educação

Strategic Litigation

Legal accountability of those who spread hate, with special attention to antisemitism, which often appears disguised, coded, packaged as political criticism, a meme, irony or a “joke.” The form changes. The target does not.

Our legal work is technical, careful and humane: it supports the victim, organizes the case, preserves evidence, structures the appropriate measures and pursues accountability through institutional and judicial channels.

There is also continuous monitoring of social media, and effective, applicable measures when the case demands it.

Advocacy

When confronting the problem demands strategic action, qualified public engagement and a firm defense of rights, guarantees and the limits of a civilized society.
